 We get very useful things from Plant

Food from Plants-

• cereals and pulses-we eat seeds of some plants called cereals and pulses. Cereal and pulses are known as food grain.
• vegetables-we eat fresh and green vegetables. Vegetables are eaten raw or cooked. We eat different parts of plants as vegetables. They are good for our health.
• fruits and nuts-fruits grow from flowers of the plants .Nuts are dry fruits
• spices-we add spices to our food to make it tasty.
• oil-we get oil from the seeds of some plants.
• Tea,Coffee,Sugar and Cocoa

Fiber -

we get cotton and jute from plants.

Example- Cotton plant, Jute plant

Wood -

we get wood from trees

Example-teak and pine tree

Medicines-

we get medicine from some plant those plants called medicinal plants.

Example-Tulsi,Neem,Dhatura and Haldi.

Paper,Rubber and Gum-

we get paper from Bamboo plants. We get rubber from Rubber trees. Gum is made from juice of Acacia tree.
